Lost Oxen is the solo project of Rahul Kakkar after his departure from Buy Bullets and flight from Chicago, Illinois to Boston, Massachusetts. If Buy Bullets was a project to create a layered sonic image from tints of various intruments, harmonies, and tones, then Lost Oxen is an attempt to strip that image down to its bare minimum and still retain its powerfull emotive quality.
The only request is to enter without preconception, to simply listen. The composition attempts to provide a degenerate soundscape, with its completion left to you, by the meaning you bring to bear.
In that spirit, this music was designed, recorded and engineered with a closed space in mind, and so there are subtle resonances that can only be appreciated in that venue - that is, over headphones.
